What is the purpose of the European Standard EN 13795?

It is a European-wide agreed method for demonstrating that drapes and gowns meet the Essential Requirements of Medical Devices legislation (MDD). EN 13795 is there to help prevent the transmission of infective agents between patients and clinical staff during invasive surgical procedures. It ensures a minimum level of protection against surgical site infections to all in Europe.
